What should you do first if you notice a problem?

Do you have to come back to Trebinje for a repair?
For a repair at TB Dent you usually come back to Trebinje. When you arrive, we see you straight away, without waiting for an appointment. The trip is at your own cost. That is the honest downside of treatment in another country, and it is better to know it in advance. Trebinje is a 40-minute drive from Dubrovnik; from overseas it is a separate trip.
Can a dentist at home repair the work?
Yes. On the day of surgery you receive an implant passport that records which implants you have. With it, another dentist can repair the crown or bridge on your implants. We use Straumann and Neodent, which are used worldwide, so service and parts can be found in most countries. What the passport contains is explained in Dental implant passport.
What does the warranty cover, and what does it not?
The warranty at TB Dent is written and signed by the surgeon and by you. It is ten years on implants, the same for Straumann and Neodent, and five years on the crowns and bridges. It covers breakage of the work and of the screws.
The warranty does not cover:
- accidents, fights and other physical injury
- missed check-ups
- very poor oral hygiene
- a decline in general health that leads to implant rejection
Why are check-ups a condition of the warranty?
Check-ups are part of the warranty on the crown or bridge. The first is one month after the final work, then every six months. If you travel from abroad, plan them into your trips. How the trips to Trebinje work is covered in Flying after dental implants.
What if you cannot come back for the final work?
If for any reason you do not come back for the final work after your implants are placed, you have paid only for the surgical part. The implant passport stays with you, so the final work can be done anywhere in the world.
If you can travel only rarely, the temporary fixed bridge lasts up to 12 months, so you can get the final bridge on your next trip, for example the following year.
What should you take home?
Before you leave TB Dent, take three documents: your implant passport, the written warranty and, for your insurer, a report with every procedure and price plus a fiscal receipt. What about veneers and a Hollywood Smile?
With a Hollywood Smile at TB Dent, if one veneer or crown breaks, only that one is replaced, and under warranty you pay nothing.
