At TB Dent in Trebinje we work with two implant systems, Straumann and Neodent. A Straumann implant costs €205 (400 KM) more, so a complete tooth with a porcelain-fused-to-metal crown is €1,074 instead of €869. With All-on-4 and All-on-6 the difference is 2,000 KM (about €1,020) per jaw. The warranty is the same for both, ten years. Are Straumann and Neodent the same company?
Straumann and Neodent are two brands of the same group today. Straumann is a Swiss manufacturer, founded in 1954 in Waldenburg, that has made dental implants since 1974. Neodent was founded in 1992 in Brazil. The Straumann Group bought 49 percent of Neodent in 2012 and took it over fully in 2015, according to the history of the Straumann Group.
They remain two separate implant systems with their own parts. Both are used around the world, so service and components can be found in most countries.
How much do Straumann and Neodent implants cost at TB Dent?
A Neodent implant at TB Dent costs €665 (1,300 KM) and a Straumann implant €869 (1,700 KM). The price includes the surgery, anaesthesia and uncovering the implant. The crown is paid separately: porcelain-fused-to-metal €205 (400 KM), zirconia €307 (600 KM), with the abutment included.
You pay for the implant when it is placed and for the crown when it is finished. With All-on-4 and All-on-6, the surgical part is paid on the first visit and the rest when the final bridge is ready. We do not ask for a deposit before you travel.
Is Straumann better than Neodent?
At TB Dent we do not answer that question with a simple yes or no, because the choice depends on your bone, not on the brand. The implant warranty is the same for both systems, ten years, given in writing and signed by the surgeon and the patient. Healing takes the same time, three to four months, and the placement procedure is the same.
The difference you see is the difference in price. We do not claim that one system lasts longer than the other, because we have no data from our own practice that we could show you.
How does the surgeon choose the system?
The surgeon proposes the system after a CBCT scan, based on the quality and density of your bone. The scan also shows whether bone grafting is needed. If you live abroad, you can send your CBCT scan on WhatsApp and get the proposal and the exact price before you book flights.
Implants at TB Dent are placed by Dr Darijo Pandžić, a specialist in oral surgery, and Dr Nikola Krnojelac, a resident in oral surgery. The consultation is free and can be in English.
Does the same apply to All-on-4 and All-on-6?
All-on-4 and All-on-6 at TB Dent are done with both systems. All-on-4 costs €5,110 (10,000 KM) per jaw with Neodent and €6,135 (12,000 KM) with Straumann implants. All-on-6 costs €6,650 (13,000 KM) with Neodent and €7,670 (15,000 KM) with Straumann. The difference is 2,000 KM per jaw, and the warranty is the same here too: ten years on the implants and five on the bridge.

What if I need a repair back home?
A crown or bridge on an implant can be repaired by another dentist, whichever system you have. On the day of surgery you get an implant passport, a document listing the manufacturer, type and position of each implant. With it, any dentist in the world can make or repair the work on your implant. That matters most if you live far from Trebinje.
